화계(花溪) 박영만(朴英晩)의 작가활동과 임시정부 하 광복군활동에 대한 고찰 - 박영만의 자필 「독립운동기」 및 광복군 소설을 중심으로
이 논문은 『조선전래동화집』의 작가이자 중경 임시정부 시절 광복군 중령으로 활동하였던 박영만의 작가적 생애와 공적을 고찰하기 위해 집필되었다. 필자는 박영만이 국가보훈처에 제 출한 친필원고 ｢독립운동기｣(공적서) 및 ｢공적 재심청구 건의서｣, 가족 인터뷰 내용을 바탕으 로, 박영만의 중국 망명 이전의 작가활동, 임시정부 하 광복군활동 및 해방 뒤 작가활동 등을 고찰함으로써 박영만의 생애 및 활동을 전체적으로 조명하였다. 화계 박영만은 1930년대 초부터 1940년까지 주목받는 동화작가로서, 우리나라 전래동화 수집 및 형성에 큰 공헌을 하였다. 1940년부터 해방 직전까지는 중국으로 망명하여 임시정부 하에서 광복군 중령으로서 군공(軍功)을 세웠으며, 해방 이후 1960년대 말까지는 드라마 작 가 및 소설가로서 활동하였다. 후반기 집필 활동의 중심은 논 픽션 형식의 광복군 소설의 집 필을 통하여 광복운동의 실상을 조명하고, 애국지사들의 삶의 의미를 형상화한 것에 있었다. 박영만의 작가활동 경력 중에서 가장 기억될 만하고 빛나는 부분은 1940년『조선전래동화집』을 출간한 것과 1943년 광복군 군가 <압록강행진곡>을 작사했다는 점이다. 특히, 『조선전 래동화집』은 가장 한국적이며 문학적 가치가 높은 근대 옛이야기집으로 평가될 것이다.
A Study on the Literary Activity of Park Young-man and Korean Independence Army Activity under the Provisional Government－Focusing on Park Young-man's handwritten “Independence Movement Record”
This paper was written to examine the writer's life and achievements of Park Young-man, who was a writer of The Korean Fairy Tale Collection in 1940 and served as Lt. Lieutenant Colonel during the provisional government of Chongqing. Based on Park Young-man's Independence Movement Record and family interviews, I examined his life and activities by dividing his life and activities into pre-1940 writers, 1940-1945 Liberation Army activities, and post-1945 writers. Park Young-man, a fairy tale writer who attracted attention from the early 1930s to 1940, contributed to the collection and formation of Korean fairy tales. From 1940 until shortly before liberation, he fled to China and established a number of military forces as colonel of Liberation Army under the Provisional Government, and expanded his specialty as a drama writer and novelist from the end of the liberation until the late 1960s. Since 1945, he has written historical novels to illuminate the reality of the Liberation Movement and shape the struggles of independent soldiers. The most memorable and shining part of Park Young-man's writing career is that he published The Korean Fairy Tale Collection in 1940, and Korean Independence Army's lyricist "Yalu River(鴨綠江) March" in 1943.
