The purpose of this study is to select concession endings grammar items for Korean language education, to clarify the syntactic and semantic characteristics of concession endings and to devise a education model for concession endings in the Korean language education through hierarchization of grammar items. In Chapter 2, the list selected through the redundancy of concession endings which is shown in Korean textbooks and Korean grammar dictionaries by a group of the experts in the field of foreign Korean language education. By synthesizing the primarily selected grammar list by the experts and the frequency of concession endings in the modern colloquial/modern Literacy Language of the final achievements of the 21st Century Sejong Plan and the statistical data of morpheme corpus, the concession endings ‘-아도’, ‘-더라도’, ‘-ㄹ지라 도’, and ‘-은들’ were finally selected for analysis. Chapter 3 discussed the syntactic and semantic characteristics of ‘-아도’, ‘-더라도’, ‘-ㄹ지라도’, and ‘-은들’. When describing the syntactic characteristics, it was based on subject constraints, irregular constraints, the first-final-word-end constraints, sentence type constraints, and prior term constraints, and semantic characteristics were based on (non)realism. In Chapter 4, the grammar items of concession concatenation ending were hierarchized. In Chapter 5, it was proposed a teaching model of the concession endings ‘-아도’, consisting of teaching goals, teaching methods, teaching guidance and learning guidance. In Chapter 6, it has summarized the merits and presented the limitations of the study.
