In Korean history, the literature on displaced people in Sokcho has not been received any attention due to lack of research rather than lack of literature activities in Sokcho. Therefore, it is urgent to analyze and study the currently existing works deeply. Sung-sun Lee is the poet of Sorak, who bears the spirit of a separated family from the Korean War. After the Korean War, he provided citizens from Sokcho an opportunity to experience the poetry. In Sokcho and Goseong, the cities of displaced people, which were the wasted land of literature, he is known for blooming literature by shaping the nature of abysses such as the sky and the land, moon and stars, water and wind, mountains and trees, flowers and birds, insects and butterflies after he passed away. The poet Sung-sun Lee did not belong to one of the displaced people, but one of the people of separated families, who separated with his parents due to the Korean War. The literature of displaced people in Sokcho has historical, social, and literary significance in terms of describing the joys and tragedies of South Korean society since the refugees from North Korea settled in Sokcho. This can be called “Valuable” since it re-examines the value of human life based on the gloomy times caused by the war. The purpose of this paper is to examine the world of poetry pursued by poet Sung-sun Lee, who has been contributed to Seorak and the nature of the sea, which lead to the foundation of Sokcho’s displaced people’s literature, and shed new lights on how his literary achievement associated with the achievement of displaced people literature in Sokcho.
