문학지리학으로 본 정지용 초기 바다시의 지리공간
문학지리학은 문학과 지리환경의 관계를 연구대상으로 한 학문 분야이다. 지리는 시인의 삶을 직접 영위하는 실질적 공간이므로 시인 삶의 과정에서 형성된 지리감지, 지리기억, 지리 사유가 그의 시 창작에 큰 영향을 줄 수 있다. 본 논문은 주로 중국 문학지리학 연구 방법으 로 정지용 소년기와 청년기에 형성된 지리감지와 지리기억을 찾아보고, 지리심상 연구법과 공간 분석법을 활용하여 정지용 초기 바다시에 나타난 지리심상 및 지리적 심상 공간을 포착 하여 정지용이 초기에 창작한 바다 지리공간을 탐구해보았다. 정지용이 창작한 바다 지리공 간은 입체적으로 구축된 다양한 공간이다. 그중에 해경과 갑판 위의 두 공간을 바닷바람으로 통일한 공간이 있고 시청각으로 구축된 간단한 공간인 것 같으나 ‘간 밤’과 ‘아침’의 시간 교대 로 동적인 효과를 보여준 공간에서 희망과 미래까지 보이게 하는 상상의 공간도 있고 새롭게 태어나는 생명을 잉태하는 지리공간까지 있다. 그리고 실체적인 바다 공간에 추상적인 심상 을 가득 채우는 마음의 지리공간도 있다. 정지용이 창작한 바다 공간에는 그의 소년기와 청년 기에 형성된 지리감지, 지리기억, 그리고 그로 인해 형성된 지리사유까지 그대로 담겨 있다. 그의 지리사유는 삶에서 인식된 조선과 일본의 사람, 사물, 자연 지리환경, 인문 지리환경에 따른 지리적 인지와 감지를 바탕으로 형성된 지리정신과 공간의식이다. 정지용은 고향 옥천, 수도 경성, 지배국 일본의 기후(氣候), 기상(氣象), 수문(水文), 지질(地質) 등을 몸으로 느끼 고 체험하여 색다른 바다 지리공간을 구축해냈다.
A Geospatial Study on Jeong Ji-yong's Ocean Poetry from the Perspective of Literary Geography
With the research method of Chinese literary geography, This paper explores the geographical perception and geographical memory in Jeong Ji-yong's poetry in his youth and adolescence; and then specifically analyzes the geographical image and its space in his early ocean poetry with the research method of geographical image and spatial analysis; and finally explores the ocean space of Jeong Ji-yong's early poetry. Jeong Ji-yong constructed a multi-dimensional ocean geographical space in his ocean poetry. For example, through the sea breeze, the sea view and the deck are integrated into on space; another example, the physical ocean space built with visual and auditory synaesthesia is endowed with dynamic feeling by the alternation of morning and night, and the physical space is transformed into imaginary space due to the infusion of desire for the future. In addition, the physical ocean space is filled with virtual images, making it a geographical space of mind. The ocean space created by Jeong Ji-yong is rich in its geographical perception, geographical memory and the geographical thinking formed in his youth and adolescence. Based on his understanding of people, things, natural and human geographical environment in Korea and Japan, Jeong Ji-yong developed his geographical thinking into the geographical spirit and spatial consciousness.
