중국어 교육에서 AIED 보조 도구의 활용 가능성 탐구 - 챗봇, 인공지능 스피커, ITS를 중심으로 -
본 연구는 AIED(AI in Education)의 한 갈래로 외국어 교육에서 활용되고 있는 챗봇, 인 공지능 스피커, ITS에 대해 살펴보고, 중국어 교육이 가장 활성화되어 있는 중국과 미국의 AIED 사례를 소개함으로써 국내 중국어 교육에서 AIED 보조 도구의 활용 가능성을 탐구하 고자 한다. 먼저, 챗봇은 챗봇 제작 플랫폼에 교수자가 직접 학습 콘텐츠를 탑재할 수 있어 다른 도구에 비해 활용도가 높다. 다음으로 인공지능 스피커는 최근 국내외 IT 기업의 제품이 대중화함과 동시에 다국어 지원, 음성 인식 등의 특징으로 인해 많은 연구자가 교육에 활용하 고 있다. 끝으로 ITS(Intelligent tutoring system)는 개개인을 위한 튜터로 AIED의 궁극적 목적인 개인 맞춤형 교육을 수행하기 위해 계속해서 발전하고 있다. 중국어 교육 분야에서 아직 성숙한 ITS는 찾아보기 어렵다. 국외 중국어 교육의 AIED 보조 도구 사례를 살펴보면 중국의 경우, 중국 교육부를 필두로 AI 기술을 기반으로 한 중국어 교육을 실현하기 위해 노 력해왔다. 미국의 경우, 정부보다는 거대 IT 기업의 주도하여 AI 기술을 기반으로 한 중국어 교육 플랫폼이 다수를 이루었다. 그러나 국내의 중국어 교육 관련 AIED 보조 도구는 개발 사례를 찾아보기 어려우며, 중국어 교육에서 AIED 보조 도구를 활용한 교수-학습 사례도 많지 않아 향후 관련 연구가 더욱 확대되길 기대한다.
Explore the Usability of AIED Assistants in Chinese Pedagogy - Focused on Chatbot, Smart Speaker and ITS -
This study aims to explore the usability of AIED(AI in Education) assistants in Chinese pedagogy by examining chatbot, smart speaker, and ITS used in foreign language education by introducing examples of AIED in China and the United States, where Chinese education is most active. First, chatbots are more utilized than other tools because instructors can directly add their content. Next, smart speakers or AI speakers that support Chinese are used by many researchers due to their characteristics of voice recognition. Finally, ITS enables personalized education, the ultimate purpose of AIED, as a tutor for individuals. In the case of China, the Chinese Ministry of Education leads the project to realize Chinese language education for foreigners based on AI technology. In the case of the United States, Chinese language education platforms based on AI technology were led by IT companies. However, it is difficult to find cases of development of AIED assistance tools related to Chinese language education in Korea. Moreover it is hard to find out teaching-learning research using AIED assistance tools in Chinese language education in Korea so these kind of research is expected to expand further in the future.
