韩国“中国观”转变的历史轨迹
The term, Korea's "View of China", is often used in Chinese media to describe the emotional attachment to China shown by individual politicians and intellectuals in foreign countries. However, how does Korea's view of China affect the country’s foreign policy on China? To answer this question, we plan to conduct a process-tracing on Korea’s evolving foreign relations with China since the establishment of Joseon Dynasty, with a focus on Korea’s contentious intellectual debate surrounding the legitimacy of incumbent Chinese rulers. By addressing the role of perception, the finding can be generalized to help complement existing rationalist theories to better analyze the interaction between Asian countries with strong Confucian legacies and a rising China.
